Charting Your Arrival
Conference attendees traveling by air will fly into Denver International Airport (DEN), located approximately 18–20 miles from the University of Colorado Anschutz Campus in Aurora, Colorado. Depending on traffic and weather, travel time from the airport to campus or nearby hotels is typically 25–40 minutes.
Getting from DEN to Campus
The easiest and most reliable transportation option for most attendees is a rideshare service such as Lyft or Uber. Rideshares are readily available at the airport and can take you directly to the conference venue, your hotel, or surrounding restaurants and activities.
Estimated rideshare costs: approximately $35–60 each way
Follow airport signage for “Ride App Pick-Up” after baggage claim.
Rental Cars
Rental cars are available at DEN, though many attendees may find them unnecessary if staying near campus, as rideshares are widely available throughout the Denver/Aurora area. Parking is available on campus and at most hotels, though rates and availability vary.
Public Transportation Option
For attendees interested in public transit, Denver’s A Line train travels from DEN to downtown Denver, where connections to the Anschutz campus are available via light rail or bus. While less expensive, this option usually takes significantly longer and may be less convenient with luggage.
Weather & Altitude Notes
Colorado weather can change quickly, particularly in March. Attendees should plan for variable temperatures and occasional snow, even if the forecast looks mild. Denver’s higher elevation may also take some adjustment for those traveling from lower altitudes — hydration, comfortable shoes, and caffeine are strongly encouraged!

Our preferred conference hotel is The Benson Hotel & Faculty Club, a boutique hotel located directly on the University of Colorado Anschutz and within walking distance of all conference programming, workshops, receptions, and evening events. For attendees hoping to avoid rental cars, complicated transportation logistics, or sprinting across campus with coffee in hand, this is by far the easiest and most convenient option.
The Benson is newer to the area (opened in 2023) and was intentionally designed as a gathering space for the academic, healthcare, and innovation communities connected to the Anschutz campus.

Located directly across the street from the University of Colorado Anschutz, Hyatt House Denver Aurora Anschutz Medical Campus is another convenient option for conference attendees looking to stay close to programming while having easy access to restaurants, coffee shops, and nearby campus amenities. The hotel is approximately a 10–20 minute walk to most conference activities depending on venue location and offers straightforward rideshare access throughout the Denver and Aurora area.
We are currently exploring the possibility of arranging a conference shuttle between the hotel and conference venues; however, shuttle service is not guaranteed at this time.
